Professional Development: What’s the Takeaway?: Lesson Planning Around Student-Centered Goals

Instructors often plan lessons around the readings or assignments and what activities they want to use. This workshop presents a "backward design" approach to lesson planning, asking participants to think through what students should be able to do at the end of the lessons and then selecting activities to align with those outcomes. We will discuss and practice writing SMART objectives and structuring your sections with them in mind.
