"Writing a Killer Faculty Application" Workshop - Rutgers University

The Biomedical Engineering department at Rutgers University is holding a workshop to teach advanced Biomedical Engineering (or related) graduate students and postdocs how to write a faculty application. They are offering the workshop free of charge.

Getting a faculty position begins with the application. The application generally consists of a cover letter, a CV, a research statement, a teaching statement, and recommendations. While many graduate students and postdocs are familiar with how to put together a cover letter and a CV, the research and teaching statements can be trickier.

At this workshop, Dr. Ronke Mojoyinola Olabisi, Assistant Professor, Department of Biomedical Engineering at Rutgers University, will go over what makes a good packet, provide examples, and help you with your application whether you have anything written or not. Space is limited, so apply early. Lodging and meals will be provided, but you must cover your own transportation to and from Rutgers. Women and underrepresented minorities are encouraged to apply.

Plan to arrive by the evening of November 7 and leave the afternoon/evening of November 9. The workshop will run from 9 AM - 5 PM November 8 and 9 AM - 2 PM November 9.
