Mentored Discussions of Teaching (MDT) Program

Mentored Discussions of Teaching (MDT) is a quarter-long program where STEM and social science graduate students and postdocs learn about and discuss teaching and learning in their disciplines. Participants are paired with a faculty mentor to meet with and observe several sessions of their course.

Participants also attend three group meetings where they discuss literature about teaching and learning and share their perspectives from their teaching observations.

This program is offered through the Center for the Integration of Research, Teaching and Learning (CIRTL).

  • Register by Monday, September 24 to participate.
  • This program is flexible and designed to accommodate the busy lives of graduate students and postdocs.
  • More information about the program requirements and meeting dates can be found on the program website.

Please email Lauren Woods, Assistant Director, CIRTL at Northwestern at lauren.woods@northwestern.edu with any questions.
