Important Northwestern Billing Information for New Students

Welcome to Northwestern University and best wishes for a great year! Student Finance wants to make sure you are aware of a very important matter: your tuition and fees bill for the fall term.

You may also read these instructions online, where you will see a menu of important Billing and Payment topics.

When your bill is available for viewing online, you will receive an email at your official Northwestern email address. Depending on your personal situation, whether you are living in campus housing and when you register, you may receive your first monthly Northwestern bill on October 11. We recommend that you act now, before you are billed, to set your billing preferences and authorize any additional payers for your account. Please note: you and your guest payer(s) have the option of making payments either online or by mail regardless of the billing delivery method you select.

Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) and Your CAESAR Login
Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) is now active on
CAESAR, Northwestern’s secure gateway to online student services. See FAQs and the MFA Quick Guide for registering your phone on the Multi-Factor Authentication page.

Tuition Billing Methods
Northwestern’s preferred bill delivery method is eBilling via QuikPAY®. However, you may request that your bill be printed and sent via regular mail by changing your “User Preferences” in QuikPAY®. If you select paper billing, the bill will be mailed to the permanent address listed in CAESAR under Student Homepage  >  Profile tile  >  Addresses in the left navigation menu. If the left navigation menu is not shown, click the icon with two vertical bars to open it. Please verify that your billing address is correct and make any necessary changes to your user preferences by or October 8, to meet the deadline for the October billing cycle.

Your bill for the fall term will be available online on October 11 in QuikPAY®, Northwestern’s eBill & ePay service. Access QuikPAY® via CAESAR. Go to CAESAR Homepage  >  My Account tile  >  View or Pay Monthly Bill in the left navigation menu.

In QuikPAY®, students or guests can view their tuition bills and bill history, make secure electronic payments from bank accounts located in the U.S., and see a history of their ePayments. They will receive (by email) notification whenever a new bill generates and confirmation of each payment they make. Although tuition is billed each term, charges from other offices at the university (e.g., University Housing, parking & library fines) may be billed to the Student Account at any time. An invoice may generate as often as once a month if there is a balance other than zero on the account or if there has been any activity on the account since the prior billing cycle.

See About Your Bill for more details.
