Brand Yourself: Tools to position yourself in the job market and in life

CONTENT OF THE SESSION:
1. The power of story to influence others:

Use stories to share your work, results, to influence people and to get support for your ideas

Finding a job, getting a job, influencing superiors (especially those with a lifetime of opposing scientific views)
2. Personal branding and storytelling:

How to demonstrate credibility, express your ideas passionately and build trust.
3. The art of conversation:
- Making yourself understood by lay people (and other scientists) in a way that is memorable and moving
- Getting rid of jargon and adding in meaning
- Being effective at networking functions with an elevator introduction of what you do, what that means and how you do what you do.
Each part will consist of a lecture, followed by an activity to practice the content of the lecture
