Job Opportunity - Proteintech Group Senior Scientist

Proteintech, a rapidly growing Biotech company in the Chicagoland area, is seeking a energetic PhD-level scientist to be part of their molecular/cell biology team. The candidate should specialize in optimization of mammalian cell transcription/translation/secretory mechanisms and would be responsible for aiding the team in maximizing mammalian cell secreted protein yields.
Responsibilities:
- Plasmid design and construction, including engineering of proprietary constructs for increased cellular protein expression
- Optimization of mammalian cell culture conditions for maximum plasmid transcription/translation/protein secretion
- Mammalian cell transfection
- Contribute to our research team’s scientific strategies
Qualifications:
- PhD in Molecular/Cellular Biology/Biochemistry with academic postdoctoral or industrial experience
- Experience with clonal selection and the use of multiple types of enhancers/promoters for mammalian cell expression
- Demonstrated experience in mammalian cell culture optimization
- Excellent communication/organization skills
