External Fellowships and Grants

The Graduate School (TGS) strongly encourages students to apply for external fellowships and grants.

Office of Fellowships

Fellowships fall into many categories. Some provide funding to attend graduate school while others support study or research overseas to gain practical experience in your field of study. Still others fund language study or trips to specialized archives. The Office of Fellowships assists students and alumni to identify appropriate fellowships, then successfully complete the application process. Students should contact the Office of Fellowships for assistance in securing outside funds.

The Office of Fellowships  maintains a website to serve graduate fellowship seekers and applicants. This site identifies external databases that provide a host of options to graduate students.

In addition to discipline, the databases listed here allow students to search along a number of criteria including diversity-based fellowships, awards available to international students, and awards for multiple identity groups.

For more information about external fellowships contact the Office of Fellowships. Students in the humanities and social sciences please contact  Stephen Hill. Students in STEM fields please contact LaTanya Williams.
