Northwestern Transportation Club (NTC) is a community that brings together students interested in transportation and mobility. It provides opportunities to connect with peers, learn from one another, and visit transportation industry sites to gain real-world exposure to the field.
- Who all is eligible to join NTC?
Graduate and undergraduate students who are interested in transportation and mobility are welcome to join.
- How does one "join" NTC?
Students can join by emailing nutransportationclub@gmail.com to be added to the club email list and WhatsApp group chat. Once they join, they will receive event updates and can actively participate in club activities.
- What can new members expect from NTC?
New members can expect research talks from senior graduate students, opportunities to connect with others who share an interest in transportation, and site visits to transportation-related organizations such as Amazon, the Chicago Transit Authority (CTA), logistics companies, and the Chicago Department of Transportation (CDOT).
- What is NTC's biggest annual event?
Our biggest events each year are our transportation industry site visits, which give members the chance to learn directly from practitioners and see real-world operations up close. These visits are a highlight of the club because they combine professional exposure, networking, and hands-on learning in the transportation field.
- What impact do you think NTC has on the TGS community?
Northwestern Transportation Club helps strengthen the TGS community by creating a space for graduate students with shared interests in transportation and mobility to connect, learn, and build professional relationships. It also broadens students’ exposure to research and industry through talks, networking, and site visits, helping them feel more engaged both academically and professionally.
