Holiday Greetings from TGS! ✨

Northern lights over Northwestern

Dear members of The Graduate School (TGS) community,

Several weeks ago, many of us looked up as the northern lights appeared far beyond their usual reach. Seeing this unexpected display dancing across the night sky offered a brief pause and a reminder that moments of wonder can emerge even in the midst of our everyday routines.

As the year draws to a close, I am struck by that same sense of awe when reflecting upon the collective accomplishments of our graduate and postdoctoral communities. Across disciplines and fields, your research, scholarship, and creativity shape conversations that extend well beyond our campuses.

I am also continually inspired by your perseverance. In a dynamically changing and often challenging environment, you have maintained a clarity of purpose and commitment that does not go unnoticed. Your contributions strengthen our academic institution and leave a lasting impact on Northwestern and the world.

As we enter the holiday season, I hope you take pride in your achievements and feel energized for the work and the year ahead. What you do matters. Keep going. And know that we are here to support you every step of the way. Please reach out to me or any member of The Graduate School team at any time.

Wishing you and yours a restful and illuminating holiday season, and a joyful 2026.

Warm regards,
Kelly
