By University statute, The Graduate School is charged with supervision of graduate work leading to advanced academic degrees, offering the master of arts (MA), master of fine arts (MFA), master of public health (MPH), master of science (MS) and doctor of philosophy (PhD) degrees in over 70 disciplines. Certificate programs offer interdisciplinary specialization in certain areas, ranging from African studies to law and social science, for students enrolled in graduate degree programs. Furthermore, The Graduate School offers qualified students the opportunity to pursue a number of different combined (joint and dual) degree programs.
