Northwestern Benefits Information Sessions

Beginning in 2017, Benefits will offer monthly information sessions to increase employee awareness of the benefit plans available to them.  These sessions will be offered on each campus, the topics will vary each month and sessions will run from 12:00pm -1:00pm to allow employees to attend over their lunch break.  Registration will not be required for these events.  The January Benefits session will be titled "How to Get the Most out of Your Health, Dental & Vision Benefits in 2017."  This event is intended primarily for those who are first time enrollees in health/dental/vision plans and/or foreign nationals using U.S. insurance plans for the first time. 


The following topics will be discussed during this session:

  • How the health, dental & vision plans work,
  • Locating an in-network provider for each plan, and,
  • Understanding the insurance carrier's Explanation of Benefits ("EOB").   

This session will be offered at the following dates & times:

  • Chicago Campus: January 10th from 12-1 at the Robert H Lurie Medical Research Center in the Grey Seminar Room.
  • Evanston Campus: January 12th from 12-1 at the Norris University Center in the Wildcat Room 101
