Postdoc Position in the Department of Biomedical Engineering at the University of Rochester
- Development of a sheet-membrane based dialyzer for large-animal HD;
- Development of a membrane-based plasma generator;
- Benchtop evaluation of the two devices alone and in tandem;
- Conduct large-animal hemodialysis studies.
The candidate will also have opportunities to work with researchers in the Department of Nephrology, as well as other microfluidic-related projects within the Department of Biomedical Engineering including point-of-care diagnostic devices.
The candidate should hold a doctoral degree in biomedical engineering or a related field, with experience in microfluidics, blood analysis, and hemodialysis. Candidates with strong understanding of finite element analysis especially using COMSOL Multiphysics are encouraged to apply.
