TGS Parents Summer Celebration at Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum

On Saturday, July 28, TGS invited graduate students and postdoctoral fellows who are parents to gather with their families for a summer celebration at Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum in Chicago.

Approximately 150 participants roamed the museum’s many interactive exhibits, including the always popular Judy Istock Butterfly Haven. Parents and their families mingled over sandwiches and snacks while enjoying games, bubbles, face painting, and more in a private indoor room and adjoining outdoor terrace.

TGS sponsored this free event, which Family Resource Liaison Lesley Lundeen organized. “We love opportunities like this for our students who are parents to come together and enjoy some quality time with other parents and their families,” Lesley said. “It’s a challenge to juggle research and families, and this was a great way to express our appreciation to our TGS parents and the families who support them.”

If you are a TGS parent and would like to learn more about the services and resources TGS provides, please email Lesley Lundeen, Family Resource Liaison, at lesley.lundeen@northwestern.edu.
