Office of Fellowships NSF GRFP Summer Writing Workshops

Join the Office of Fellowships for a series of writing workshops on July 31, August 2, and August 7 for tips on how to apply to the National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship Program (NSF GRFP).

The NSF GRFP provides funding for MS and PhD graduate studies, and the application requires both a research proposal and a personal statement. These writing workshops will focus on:

  • The GRFP peer review process
  • Strategies for effective personal statement introductions
  • How to describe your research and extracurricular activities to align with GRFP philosophy
  • Elements of successful essays and common pitfalls to avoid

Each workshop will build upon the previous session; feel free to attend one, two, or all three. The purpose of these sessions is to introduce you to ideas that will assist you as you begin drafting your personal and research statements.

All sessions will take place at the Office of Fellowships Conference Room, 1920 Sheridan Road, Evanston.
