Saturday, May 5, 2018: 9-12 (morning session), 1-4 (afternoon session), Sullivan High School

Northwestern University Brain Awareness Outreach (NUBAO) is a graduate student-led public outreach initiative dedicated to educating, exciting, and inspiring the Chicago community about the brain. Founded in 2010 as part of the Northwestern University Interdepartmental Neuroscience PhD Program, NUBAO consists of a diverse group of mostly graduate students, in addition to several undergraduate students, post-doctorate fellows, faculty, and research staff from various departments and scientific disciplines at Northwestern University. They are always looking for enthusiastic science-minded volunteers!

Hosted in partnership with Sullivan High School, the annual Brain Awareness Fair is NUBAO's biggest event. Over 20 exciting demonstrations and fun, hands-on activities that demonstrate how the brain works. Kids and teens learn with parents or chaperones about neuroscience with activities geared toward all ages. Activities include touching a real sheep brain, viewing optical illusions, controlling a Lego robot with brain derived signals and much more!
