NIGMS to Discontinue Participation in NIH NRSA Individual Fellowship Award (Parent F31)

The National Institute of General Medical Sciences (NIGMS) is discontinuing participation in PA-16-309 “Ruth L. Kirschstein National Research Service Award (NRSA) Individual Predoctoral Fellowship (Parent F31)” effective immediately. NIGMS will not accept either New or Resubmission applications for PA-16-309 and its subsequent reissuances for the April 8, 2018 application due date and beyond.

NIGMS has a strong commitment to supporting predoctoral students through institutional training grants, and supports approximately 3,000 graduate students each year in basic biomedical sciences disciplines and through the Medical Scientist Training Program (MSTP).
 
NIGMS will continue to accept applications to the Ruth L. Kirschstein NRSA Individual Predoctoral Fellowships to Promote Diversity in Health-Related Research (F31) and the Individual Predoctoral MD/PhD or Other Dual-Doctoral Degree Fellowships for Students at Institutions Without NIH-Funded Institutional Predoctoral Dual-Degree Training Programs (F30) Funding Opportunity Announcements.
