  • All events held in Room 202 on the second floor at 2016 Sheridan Rd (Department of Linguistics)
  • Each event highlights a specific aspect of American culture
  • Ask questions, share experiences and opinions with peers and English Language Programs (ELP) staff
  • A supportive environment for speakers at any level of English proficiency

Game Night!!!

Wednesday, January 23, 4:00 - 6:00 PM

Come join ELP for some fun and games! From card games to charades, this event will feature games that are both popular in American culture and that are easy to play! No preparation is needed…just show up and be ready to play.


Super Bowl LIII (53) Pre-Game Party

Thursday, January 31, 3:00 - 5:00 PM

The Super Bowl is the most popular sporting event in the United States. Are you ready for the big game? Which team will you support? Will you watch more for the game or for the commercials and halftime show? ELP will discuss Super Bowl party dos and don’ts as well as the idea of ‘small talk’.


DIY Valentine’s Day Craft

Tuesday, February 12, 4:00 - 5:00 PM

What better way to prepare for Valentine’s Day than to make a special craft for someone special in your life? Show your creativity at this event by making a Valentine’s Day-themed craft. Talk about holidays around the world that celebrate love and romance while working on your craft. Supplies will be provided by ELP.


Explore American Media - Netflix & Chat

Monday, March 4, 4:00 - 6:00 PM

Join ELP to watch an episode of the Netflix hit, “Tidying Up with Marie Kondo”. The episode will give you a glimpse inside the dynamics of an American household. Following the episode, you will have time for discussion and questions, including what ‘home’ means to us.
