Press Graduate Assistantship Applications Due May 13

The Northwestern University Press Graduate Assistantship is a competitive twelve-month position awarded to an outstanding graduate student at Northwestern University working on a PhD in any field of the humanities. This position will provide the student with an invaluable in-depth, comprehensive introduction to scholarly publishing. The student will gain familiarity with the publication process and goals of the university press in the context of the larger campus community; have access to the acquisitions, editorial, and marketing staff, who possess expertise in scholarly communications and the state of scholarship across many humanities disciplines; and enjoy a mentored team environment in which to build analytical skills that will be useful across many careers in the humanities. Students are expected to make progress on their dissertation while working at NUP; the opportunity is designed to approximate typical assistantship time commitments and responsibilities.

The Office of Fellowships and The Graduate School is seeking applicants for the F99/K00 Kidney, Urologic, and Hematologic/National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases (KUH/NIDDK) transition award.  This award is administered by the National Institutes for Health (NIH) and seeks to attract outstanding graduate students who have the desire to transition from their current PhD training program into postdoctoral positions in the Kidney, Urologic, or Hematologic sciences (K, U, and H). The F99/K00 award provides up to 2 years of funding to complete the PhD training (F99 phase) and facilitates a stable transition into 3-4 years of mentored postdoctoral work (K00 phase).

Call for Applications: Kaplan Humanities Institute Graduate Assistantship (2019-20)

Applications are being accepted for the graduate assistantship in the public humanities for the 2019-20 academic year. The Assistantship is designed to build professional capacity in programming, research support, and undergraduate mentorship. The role will encompass a broad range of duties, from coordinating undergraduate student involvement in the humanities to building collaborations and outreach initiatives with Northwestern and outside organizations. The Museum of Contemporary Art (MCA) Chicago is excited to collaborate with Kate Neisser and the Neisser Family Foundation to launch the Neisser Family Curatorial Internship. This internship will serve as an opportunity for college and graduate level students of color to learn and work in a leading, globally-focused museum that is vested in their growth and progression.
