Emily Updegraff, PhD, Named Chief of Staff for The Graduate School

I am pleased to announce that Emily Updegraff, PhD, has been named chief of staff for The Graduate School (TGS) effective September 1, 2019. In this role, Emily will provide operational leadership to all TGS staff members, coordinate communication with stakeholders across our partner schools, manage our human resources portfolio, and broadly enable our Vision 2025 strategic plan.

Fall Data Science Fellowship Opportunity

The Data Incubator is an intensive 8-week fellowship that prepares masters students, PhDs, and postdocs in STEM and social science fields seeking industry careers as data scientists. The program is free for fellows and supported by sponsorships from hundreds of employers across multiple industries. In response to the overwhelming interest in earlier sessions, the Data Incubator will be holding another fellowship.

Spring is my favorite academic season, culminating in our hooding ceremony, an annual rite of passage to honor our PhD and MFA graduates and welcome them to our community of scholars.
