  • Please register by Friday, 9/7 to participate.
  • Creation of a free CIRTL Network account is required to register for event.

Workshop Description:

Navigating the academic job market requires knowledge, time, organizational skills, and perseverance. In this interactive workshop, we seek to answer some of the most common questions asked by graduate students and postdoctoral scholars pursuing positions in higher education. Some of these questions include:

  1. What type of school is right for my goals?
  2. When should I begin the job search process?
  3. What different types of academic positions are available?
  4. How much salary should I expect?

Participants will learn about a wide range of tools and resources available to assist them in answering many questions about finding and securing an academic job. Participants will also complete a job profile, personal timeline, and statement of personal goals.

Note: This workshop will not cover crafting the documents needed for an academic job (CV/resume, teaching statement, etc.).
