STAGE Lab Now Accepting Applications for Fall 2019 Fellowships

Created: October 15, 2018

The Scientists, Technologists and Artists Generating Exploration (STAGE) Lab is now accepting applications for its fall 2019 fellowships.

STAGE is a laboratory within the University of Chicago’s Institute for Molecular Engineering, that is devoted to creating developing original multimedia theatre work inspired by science and technology.

STAGE is offering fellowships to work collaboratively on the creation and development of its original multimedia theatrical works inspired by science and technology. This opportunity is open to those who have completed undergraduate or graduate degrees, preferably within the last two years. Fellowships come with a stipend, and while there is no guarantee, typically last one-to-two years.

STAGE is looking for people with hybrid interests and skills, especially scientists who have had some theatre experience, as well as theatre artists with an interest in science. The ideal candidates are willing to actively exercise their skills in STAGE's non-traditional theatre-making process.

The deadline for fall 2019 fellowships is January 21, 2019. First interviews are held on a rolling basis; as a general rule, therefore, applications should be submitted as early as possible.
