Franke Graduate Fellowships for 2019-2020

With generous funding from Richard and Barbara Franke, and in partnership with The Graduate School, the Alice Kaplan Institute for the Humanities will offer exclusive fellowships to the most promising graduate students in fields across the humanities for 2019-2020. Following a rigorous selection process, Franke Graduate Fellows will enrich their independent research within a vibrant interdisciplinary collective, which includes multilayered structured conversations among faculty, graduate students, undergraduates, internationally renowned visiting scholars, and distinguished visiting artists.

Chateaubriand Fellowship Call for Applications

The Chateaubriand Fellowship is a grant offered by the Embassy of France in the United States. It supports outstanding PhD students from American universities who wish to conduct research in France for a period ranging from 4 to 9 months. Chateaubriand fellows are selected through a merit-based competition, through a collaborative process involving expert evaluators in both countries.

Applications Invited for 2019-2020 Visiting Fellowships and Travel Grants at the Lewis Walpole Library, Yale University

The Lewis Walpole Library, a department of Yale University Library, funds four-week visiting fellowships and two-week travel grants to support research in the Library’s rich collections of eighteenth-century materials (mainly British). In addition, the Library administers two jointly funded residential fellowships: The LWL / ASECS Library Fellowship is awarded to an ASECS member in good standing for up to four weeks of research at the Lewis Walpole Library, and The LWL / Beinecke Rare Book and Manuscript Library Fellowship is awarded to support up to eight weeks of research in the collections of both libraries.

Delores Zohrab Liebmann Fellowship

The Dolores Zohrab Liebmann Fund administered by JPMorgan, Trustee. Mrs. Liebmann was the daughter of a prominent Armenian intellectual, writer and statesman and was married to one of the owners of a successful American business. She supported students and educational and charitable organizations during her lifetime. Mrs. Liebmann's primary concern, as expressed in her Will, was to attract and support students with outstanding character and ability who hold promise for achievement and distinction in their chosen fields of study.
