This notice revises the previous Notice of NIH Interest in Diversity: NOT-OD-18-122 to clarify that Native Hawaiians are included in category A Underrepresented Populations, and that the revision to category A to permit participation in diversity programs of ‘individuals from racial or ethnic groups that can be demonstrated convincingly to be underrepresented by the grantee institution’ supersedes the current diversity language in existing funding opportunity announcements (FOAs).

Grant Application Instruction Correction for Training Grants with Human Subjects Involvement

NIH Notice Number: NOT-OD-18-128 This notice corrects application form instructions related to human subjects involvement for Training (T) grant applications submitted to due dates on or after January 25, 2018. Human subjects information beyond answering the human subjects questions on the R&R Other Project Information Form is not required for Training grant applications (except D43 and K12).

New policies at the National Science Foundation go into effect next week. Significant changes include increasing the length of budget justifications to five pages and requiring the project description to include a section titled "Intellectual Merit."
