Pat Mann to Retire from Northwestern

Modified: June 20, 2017

I write to inform you that Patricia Mann will retire from her role as Assistant Dean of Financial Aid at The Graduate School, effective at the end of August after 40 years of service to the graduate community at Northwestern. She has been instrumental in processing financial information for many thousands of students over her time at TGS, and is known as the go-to person for assistance in this area. She has worked in The Graduate School over her entire career at Northwestern, and was appointed Assistant Dean in 1999. As you might imagine, a notable part of her work involved digitizing records that previously existed on paper, and this, for her, has been quite notable. Pat is known for her partnership with each of you and her dedication to her work on behalf of our students and programs. It is difficult to imagine TGS without Pat, who is a wealth of institutional knowledge, and who is a remarkable advocate for our community members.
The Graduate School will offer an opportunity for you to say goodbye to her in person in August, so please watch your inboxes for this invitation, and join us as we wish her well.
Though Pat will be leaving us, she will not be far away. I encourage you to stay in touch with her, or catch up with her at Chicago Sky and Cubs games.

With Warmest Regards,
Dwight A. McBride, PhD
Associate Provost & Dean of The Graduate School
