Modified: March 7, 2017

Tuesday, March 21, 3:30pm - 5:00pm

Searle Center Library
Searle Center for Advancing Learning and Teaching
627 Dartmouth Place
Evanston, IL

Workshop Description:

Demonstrating resilience through challenging situations is a critical component of professional success. This session will help graduate student and postdoc participants identify characteristics of resilient people, describe the resources accessible to help them develop and sustain resilience, and write an action plan to integrate a strategy for resilience into their daily professional or personal routines. Groups of participants will share their challenges, as they deem appropriate, and reflect on each others’ action plans.

Workshop Facilitator:

Professor Goldberg is the Director of the Searle Center for Advancing Learning and Teaching, Assistant Provost for Learning and Teaching and Professor of Physics and Astronomy. He has more than two decades of experience in designing and implementing active learning workshops for graduate students and postdocs, and is co-author of two MOOCs developing learning and teaching skills for future faculty. Having recently arrived from Boston, he is excited to start working with the graduate student and postdoc communities at Northwestern.
