Data Science for Social Good Summer Fellowship

Modified: January 2, 2018

Applications for the 2018 Data Science for Social Good Fellowships at the University of Chicago are now open. They are excited to expand the fellowship program and will be continuing the programs in Chicago and Portugal, as well as starting a new one with University of North Carolina at Charlotte.

You can apply to be a Fellow, Data Science Mentor, or Project Manager based on your skills and interests.

If you are a government agency, non profit or another type of organization working on social good, you should apply as a project partner.

They are also fundraising for the program. If you can help fund their important work, please contact them or make a gift here (choose "Center for Data Science and Public Policy" from Area of Support).

Are you a non-profit or government agency that wants to do more with data?

Over the last five years, they have helped more than 100 organizations working on education, public health, government transparency, energy and the environment, poverty, and international development understand their data and use it more effectively.

Find out what makes a good DSSG project, and apply to be a 2018 project partner by January 31.

Are you a student that wants to apply data science skills toward creating a better world?

They are looking for undergraduate and graduate students in computer science, statistics and the social sciences with a passion for both data science and making a difference. Learn more about the program at their FAQ and read about past projects at their blog.
