Conversations with Dean McBride Following NLRB Rulings

Modified: September 22, 2016

We know that there are many questions following the recent decision by the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB), which ruled that student assistants working at private colleges and universities are statutory employees covered by the National Labor Relations Act.

To help you better understand the implications of this ruling, The Graduate School invites you to attend a conversation with Dwight A. McBride, Dean of The Graduate School & Associate Provost for Graduate Education, to discuss the NLRB decision enabling graduate students at private institutions to unionize. You will receive a general overview of the current state, answers to your questions based on what we know today, and possible future considerations.
We know this is a complex issue, and encourage you to attend this session to learn more so that you can make informed decisions moving forward.

A valid WildCARD is required to attend either session.

Conversations will be held:

Tuesday, September 27 from 3-5 PM in the Graduate Student Commons, 2122 Sheridan Road Room 140
