Why We Have Too Few Women Leaders: A Discussion with Pie

Modified: August 4, 2015

Monday, August 17, 5:15-6:15pm
TGS Commons, 140 Seabury Hall

Despite the fact that women made up 50 percent of US college graduates by the early 80's, women still only constitute 19 percent of elected congressional officials and only 23 of the Fortune 500 CEOs are women. Join GradSWE to eat some pie and discuss the reasons and solutions proposed in Sheryl Sandberg's book, "Lean In". They will also discuss the pros and cons of Sheryl's viewpoint and other ways to become a leader. This discussion is hosted by GradSWE, but all are welcome to join in the discussion. If you haven't read the book, you can simply read this short article Time Magazine: Excerpts from Lean In or listen to Sheryl Sandberg's Ted Talk (15min). E-mail nuswe.grad@gmail.com or moffitt@u.northwestern.edu with questions.
