Digital Humanities Travel Quarter Applications Due January 19

Modified: November 5, 2015

Eligible PhD students may apply for up to four quarters of Graduate Assistantship to provide support while absent from the Chicago area in order to pursue unique training opportunities related to the digital humanities. The purpose is to encourage students to undertake one or more quarters of residency where they can:

  • Take course work supportive of digital humanities research.
  • Work with a potential or confirmed co-advisor or committee member with appropriate expertise who is based at another institution.
  • Get targeted training and/or expertise with crucial skills, software and/or methodologies wherever and however it makes sense for their research.
  • Utilize the CIC networks, especially CIC Traveling Scholars programming.

Recipients of grants are determined by a committee. Decisions are based on the committee’s evaluations and the availability of funds. The Travel Quarter award may be used in combination with the Digital Humanities Research Grant.
