The Student Services pages should serve as your guide to successful navigation of The Graduate School's requirements, from your initial registration through graduation. Along the way, you will have questions about requirements related to your specific field and degree. These are best answered by your mentor or the director of graduate studies at your program.
However, the student services staff at The Graduate School welcomes your questions and is here to help you resolve any difficulties that may arise. Each student services staff member works with students whose last names begin with a specific range of letters in the alphabet. (Please click on Contact Student Services Staff to find the best staff person to serve you at The Graduate School.)
Student Services also holds office hours on the Chicago campus on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays (closed Wednesdays) from 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM in Abbott Hall, 710 N. Lake Shore Drive, Room 1010. Hours may vary over breaks. You may contact us in our Chicago office at 312-503-8901.
Programs leading to advanced degrees awarded by The Graduate School must conform to general standards established by the Graduate Faculty regarding academic ethics, residency and grades. Academic programs may specify additional requirements, which are customarily stated in a written document available from the program. Faculty committees appointed by The Graduate School to evaluate a student's progress may also recommend supplementary requirements to remedy deficiencies or to provide program enrichment.
