Market Your Events

Marketing your events is an important way to let others know about your project, especially your fellow graduate students.

  • Whether designing a poster or web site, writing an article for the newspaper, or sending out invitations, please use the phrase "community building" in your materials.
  • Use The Graduate School logo in all advertising.  Go to The Graduate School website at http://www.tgs.northwestern.edu/Right click on the image in the upper left corner.  Select "save image as" and then save the logo to your local computer.
  • Work closely with Graduate Leadership Council (GLC) who can help you advertise your events on their listserves.  GLC members are officers from six graduate student associations recognized and funded by The Graduate School. http://www.gradconnections.northwestern.edu/   Click here for article on original GLC in Winter Quarter 2004.
  • Write an article for NU Daily to announce upcoming events, activities, and programs, or to describe a recent successful event.

In The Graduate School, Penny Warren is pleased to assist you in finding other ways to advertise your event. Just send e-mail to p-warren@northwestern.edu.

"This work is closely modeled after MIT's Graduate Student Life Grants process (http://web.mit.edu/gso/community/grants.html)."
