Northwestern University Bright Horizons Parent Advisory Committee

Modified: November 17, 2017

The purpose of the Northwestern University Parent Advisory Committee is to serve as an advisor to the Office of Work/Life & Family Resources by representing the views of parents whose children are currently enrolled at Bright Horizons @ Evanston. The focus of the meetings will be on working collaboratively to better understand any childcare issues that affect the Northwestern community broadly, rather than to serve as a platform for advancing individual requests. There will also be an opportunity to bring the Bright Horizons leadership team to meet with the committee, if the committee feels this would be beneficial.

Role:
Committee members will share feedback and recommendations about key areas of focus, such as:

  • Teacher turnover
  • Parent communications
  • Other topics determined by the committee

Along with other key metrics, feedback from the group will help to shape Work/Life recommendations.

Committee Members:
Faculty, staff, postdoc and student parents whose children are currently enrolled at Bright Horizons @ Evanston. The group will be composed of at least one representative from the faculty, staff, post-doc and student parent groups. In addition, representatives will be asked from each grade level – infants, toddlers, you Pre-K and Pre-K.

The group will meet monthly during the academic year.

If interested, please contact Lori Anne Henderson, Director, Work/Life & Family Resources
