Shuttle Alert: Sheridan Road Construction to Impact Several Stops

Modified: June 30, 2017

This week, the second phase of the City of Evanston’s Sheridan Road construction project has begun and impacts a key stretch between Chicago Ave. and Lincoln St. through September 15.  Please review the details below for more information on which stops will be impacted.

 Northbound Shuttles (Chicago to Evanston)

  • Weber Arch - This stop will be moved south to the southeast corner of Chicago Ave. and Sheridan Rd. It will be located directly across Chicago Ave. from the southbound Chicago/Sheridan stop.
  • Jacobs Center - This stop will be moved slightly south to the intersection of Sheridan Rd. and Foster St.
  • Tech Institute - This stop will be moved slightly north to the intersection of Sheridan Rd. and Noyes St.
  • Patten Gym - This stop will be moved north to the northeast corner of Sheridan Rd. and Lincoln St.

Southbound Shuttles (Evanston to Chicago)

Please note that southbound buses will be rerouted off of Noyes St. between Sherman Ave. and Sheridan Rd. Instead of turning right onto Noyes St., buses will continue north on Sherman Ave. to Central St. At Central St., buses will turn right onto Central St. and go east to Sheridan Rd. At Sheridan Rd., buses will turn right and go south on Sheridan Rd. and continue the regular route. No stops will be missed for this reroute. Other adjustments to stops on the southbound shuttles are as follows:

  • Sheridan/Noyes - This stop will be moved slightly north to the intersection of Sheridan Rd. and Noyes St.
  • Sheridan/Foster - This stop will be moved slightly north to the intersection of Sheridan Rd. and Foster St.
  • Chicago/Sheridan - There is no change for this stop and it will remain in its permanent location.

Northwestern Shuttles encourages you to allow for extra travel time during the project, and to take advantage of DoubleMap. DoubleMap’s GPS tracking allows you to track all shuttles in real-time and can be viewed online at northwestern.doublemap.com and on smartphone apps (search DoubleMap in the app store; in the app choose Northwestern University as the transit agency).
