Modified: May 10, 2017

New BEST Career Development Resources
The NIH BEST Consortium published new guides and tips on how to “Build a Career Development Program.” Courses on Professional Skills describes how to build and execute courses that teach skills such as writing, teaching, or entrepreneurship. University Partnerships provides practical tips on how to cultivate partnerships and best use them to enhance your program. Other published guides include Peer Career Exploration Groups, Experiential Learning Opportunities, Tracking Participation and Evaluating Outcomes.

The website also features the PhD and Postdoc Blog, a weekly blog series which highlights trainees from NIH BEST institutions sharing their personal stories about navigating career development opportunities during biomedical research training. BEST (Broadening Experiences in Scientific Training) is an effort by 17 institutions to explore ways of improving biomedical career development. Email contact@nihbest.org for any questions related to the NIH BEST website.
