NRMN-CAN Postdoctoral Mentor Training Workshop: “Mentoring Up”

Modified: March 21, 2017

Postdocs are invited to participate in a National Research Mentoring Network Mentoring Workshop in Chicago on May 7-8, 2017. This evidence-based workshop uses a process-based training approach to provide training that strengthens your current research mentoring experiences and research productivity, approaching the topic from both sides of the relationship. You’ll reflect on how to be a more responsive mentor as well as a more proactive mentee as a postdoc.

The following areas of mentorship practices and interests will be addressed during the 8-hour workshop:

  • Maintaining Effective Communication

  • Aligning Expectations

  • Fostering Independence

  • Promoting Self-efficacy

  • Addressing Equity and Inclusion

  • Professional Development

  • Enhancing Work-Life Integration

Enrollment for this workshop is limited to 25 participants. Registration and participant travel for the workshop is supported by NRMN-CAN. Confirmation emails including travel and additional workshop information will be sent in April, 2017. Please contact Laurie Risner with any questions.
