International Office Launching After-Hours Contact – June 12, 2017

Modified: January 5, 2018

The International Office (IO) is launching an after-hours contact number to be used when a current international student, scholar, or a dependent is experiencing interruptions in travel or entry to the United States related to the executive orders signed earlier this year. The line can be reached at 1-847-532-2037 (while abroad: 001-847-532-2037). Students/scholars/dependents can contact IO for guidance and assistance at this number when one of the below applies:

  1. If you are denied boarding a flight bound to the U.S., or denied entry into the U.S., where all of your immigration documentation is valid and you are a current student, scholar, or dependent; or
  2. If you are detained at an airport or a U.S. Port of Entry (e.g. border-crossing, seaport, etc.) and U.S. Customs & Border Protections needs confirmation of your status.

For more information about when to utilize the after-hours contact, please visit: http://www.northwestern.edu/international/about/contact-us.html

For FAQ’s and resources related to the executive orders, please visit the IO website here: http://www.northwestern.edu/international/living-working/response-to-executive-order-on-immigration/index.html

During normal working hours (Monday-Friday, 8:30am-5pm), students, scholars, their dependents, and departments may contact the regular office number for assistance: 1-847-491-5613.

We will be sharing this information with current international students, scholars, and their dependents later today. Finally, please let us know if you have a specific question by emailing me directly or sending an email to intoff@northwestern.edu
