2nd Annual Rush Research Mentoring Programs’ Symposium

The 2nd Annual Rush Research Mentoring Programs’ Symposium will be held on August 17, 2016 from 1 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. in the Searle Conference Center (fifth floor of the Professional Building, 1725 W. Harrison St.). Rush Mentoring Programs invite you to join them and stimulate interdisciplinary and interinstitutional collaboration.  Mentoring Programs will also be celebrating the 10th Anniversary Year!

Call for abstracts
Postdocs from all institutions are encouraged to submit an abstract for a poster presentation. You may submit an abstract via this Abstract submission formDeadline for abstract submission is June 24, 2016.

The body of the abstract should clearly address the following elements: objectives, methods, results, and conclusions and a maximum of 400 words.

Abstracts Tips:

  • Objective/Aim/Hypothesis - Defines the purpose, content or expectations of the work being presented.
  • Why do we care about the problem? - What practical, theoretical, scientific or gap is the research filling?
  • Design/Approach/Methods - A clear, concise description of the methods used to include research design and appropriate statistical terms/statistical analysis.
  • Results - Data aligned with methodology and objectives. Must include at least preliminary data.
  • Conclusions - Sound and justified by the data and/or statistical analyses.
  • Significance - Novel or innovative topic or methods.
  • Writing Quality - Is the writing clear, concise and grammatically correct?
