NIH Extramural Loan Repayment Program (LRP)

The overall purpose of the NIH extramural LRP is the recruitment and retention of highly qualified health professionals as research investigators to careers in research. These extramural loan repayment programs provide for the repayment of educational loan debt of up to $35,000 annually (up to $70,000 over a two-year contract) for qualified scientific researchers. LRP applicants must be U.S. citizens, U.S. nationals, or permanent resident of the U.S, and must have an M.D., Ph.D., Pharm. D., Psy.D., D.O., D.D.S., D.M.D., D.P.M., D.C., N.D., O.D., or equivalent doctoral degree from an accredited institution. The application deadline has been extended to December 1st!
