Science Communication Careers for PhDs

Modified: June 8, 2016

Love science, but interested in exploring careers outside of a lab? This career trek for PhD students and postdocs in the biological, physical, and social sciences will give you the opportunity to explore careers related to science communication and network with practitioners in the field in their places of work. Meet science PhDs who successfully transitioned into science communication careers at firms that really value PhD knowledge and skills. Hear about their work, the field of science communication, and their strategies for breaking into the field. A typical site visit will include a tour of the office and an informal discussion with Northwestern alumni and others working at the firm.

Date: Friday, July 8
Time: 9:00am – 3:00pm (there will be a break for lunch; participants will be expected to attend the full day of site visits)
Location: Trek will begin and end on the Chicago Northwestern campus
Sites: Weber Shandwick and others
RSVP: CareerCat à Events à Workshops

Please contact Mearah Quinn-Brauner with any questions.
