Branco Weiss Fellowship

Modified: November 10, 2016

Goals and Objectives:

An array of economic, social, political and cultural changes is provoked and facilitated through scientific advancements. Likewise, social processes and values impact the evolution of science and technology. The Branco Weiss Fellowship is designed for postdoctoral fellows in sciences, engineering and social sciences who are willing to engage in a dialogue on relevant social, cultural, political or economic issues across the frontiers of their particular discipline. The program aims to award up to ten five-year fellowships of up to CHF 100000 (~101,000 USD) each year. The number of recipients depends on the number of applications satisfying the stringent requirements of the strategy committee, not only taking into account the scientific abilities of the candidates, but also personal qualities and the relevance of their projects.

Eligibility and Application information:

Review the eligibility guidelines here. Citizenship requirements are not stated on the program webpage, but there are specific tenure limitations.  Application requirements can be reviewed here and the deadline to apply is January 15, 2017 (review submission, review and award timeline here).
