Modified: February 27, 2015

Rising Stars in Chemistry Symposium

Interested in faculty careers? Apply for the Rising Stars in Chemistry Symposium at the University of Chicago. This event will take place on June 8th and the deadline to apply is March 2nd. This workshop is aimed at future faculty who are interested in an academic career in organic chemistry, inorganic chemistry, physical chemistry, materials, chemical biology, biophysics, and other areas within the molecular sciences.

The Rising Stars in Chemistry Symposium will enable participants to present their research to a diverse audience, to network with researchers in their fields at Chicago, and to learn about recent developments and ongoing opportunities at the University of Chicago. Of course, you will meet the other participants, the next generation of leaders in Chemistry.

The workshop is free to participants, and their expenses for travel, lodging in Hyde Park at the new Hyatt Place Chicago-South / University Medical Center Hotel for the nights of June 7-9, and meals during the Symposium will be covered. Applicants should send a curriculum vitae (CV) with publications to the Rising Stars Symposium organizers and ask their present advisors/mentors to email the same address a brief (no more than 500 words) recommendation to attend the meeting. The deadline to receive all materials is March 2nd.

If you have additional questions, please send a message to Rising Stars Symposium organizers.

Midwest Postdoctoral Forum (MWPDF)

Midwest Postdoctoral Forum (MWPDF) is a regional consortium of institutions with postdoctoral communities affiliated with the National Postdoctoral Association (NPA). The MWPDF creates a platform for regional cooperation by improving communication between institutions and facilitating collaboration in professional and career development initiatives. See the MWPDF 2014 NPA poster for a summary of what has been achieved so far.

Last May, the MWPDF held the first Annual Midwest Postdoctoral Symposium, attracting nearly 100 postdocs from five MWPDF institutions. The second annual symposium is scheduled for May 15th, at Iowa State University.  If interested in attending this year's symposium, or have any questions, contact Kim Chickering.

To get involved with the MWPDF, join our LinkedIn group and Google Group mailing list.

New England Science Symposium (April 11th)
