Going on the Job Market Q&A Series

Modified: April 13, 2015

The NUIN Postdoctoral Affairs Committee is pleased to announce the third annual "Going on the Job Market Q&A series" will take place on April 16th and 23rd and May 7th, 14th and 28th. This year the series will be held on the Evanston campus in Cook Hall Room 3118A/B and teleconferenced to Wieboldt Hall room 421 on the Chicago campus.

This series breaks down the process of applying to academic positions into four sections, and allows an opportunity to gain valuable information from the faculty and staff around us. The committee has invited both junior faculty who have recently been through this process, as well as established faculty that serve on search committees to provide their knowledge and advice on the following topics through a combination of round-table discussion and Q&A. PLUS! We will have a fifth session discussing how to prepare for diverse career paths, including information on formatting your CV/resume.  Light refreshments will be served.
Please click on this link to RSVP for the sessions you would like to attend. Your response will allow us to gauge enthusiasm for these sessions, and it will help us tailor the series in coming years. It will also allow an opportunity for you to provide specific questions that you may have for faculty during the sessions. A complete list of topics is listed below!

April 16th - How to Get an Interview: What to Know Before You Apply - Creating a Standout Application

April 23rd - How to Get an Offer, Part I: Job Talks - Types, Structure, and Content
