Health Services and Outcomes Research Program

Northwestern’s Health Services and Outcomes Research (HSOR) Program on the Chicago campus is targeted toward MDs and PhDs (including postdocs) who wish to contribute to the important fields of health services and outcomes research. The Master of Science in HSOR provides specialized students the training needed to expand their interdisciplinary research skills and advance their careers as academics, investigators, and leaders of the evolving U.S. healthcare system.  The program also offers two graduate certificates that provide targeted instruction in research methods and contemporary issues in healthcare

A reduced tuition rate may be available to Northwestern fellows and medical residents.  Contact the program coordinator for details. Classes take place on the Chicago campus during the late afternoons and evenings; some coursework is conducted online.  The degree and certificates are part-time and self-paced

Application Deadlines are:

  • April 17th for Summer Admission
  • June 26th for Fall Admission
