New Research Data Storage Service Pilot

Modified: June 18, 2015

NUIT is conducting a working pilot of Research Data Storage Service. This new data storage service offers University researchers the ability to subscribe to a minimum of one Terabyte (TB) of desktop mountable storage.

The service offers two types of storage based on data regulation guidelines

  • Non-Audited – Appropriate for non-regulated research data.
  • Audited – Appropriate for the storage of regulated research data, such as Personal Health Information (PHI) and Personally Identifiable Information (PII), or must be in compliance with regulations such as HIPAA and FISMA.

Northwestern faculty, postdocs, students, and research staff are invited to participate in the pilot at no cost for the purpose of introducing the new service into research workflow. The pilot period is June 8th through August 31st, after which, a cost of $137.00 per TB will be assessed for those who wish to continue using the service.  Find out more and sign up to participate in the pilot by visiting this webpage.
