The Graduate School is committed to supporting, both intellectually and financially, the pursuit of research topics that take students outside the borders of the United States.  As part of this commitment, The Graduate School sponsors two unique international exchange programs that offer students in the humanities, the social sciences, and communication studies the opportunity to incorporate a particularly intensive international dimension into their graduate studies.  One of these programs is a dual PhD program with premier institutions in France.  The other is an exchange program with a selection of universities in Brazil.  These programs enable students to take advantage of the resources of leading international academic institutions while pursuing a dissertation under the guidance of scholars both at Northwestern and abroad.  Interested students are encouraged to visit the web sites of these two programs for more information (links at left).
