University research centers embody Northwestern University's interdisciplinary culture, providing a vehicle or forum for faculty and students from different departments and schools to interact and conduct multidisciplinary research. University centers and programs report to the Vice President for Research.

Northwestern supports over twenty different research centers and programs in the sciences and humanities.  Centers focus on many different departments and  topics, including applications of nanotechnology, sleep cycles, international affairs, and African studies.  Many centers offer research positions, fellowships, and Master's degree programs for graduate students and postdoctoral fellows.  A complete list of all centers and programs and links to their websites can be found here:
