Introduction

This guide has been prepared by the OPA to assist postdoctoral scholars navigate Northwestern University (NU) and provides general information on services available.  These pages are intended to serve as a check-list prior to arrival and a resource during your training period at Northwestern. A PDf of the new postdoctoral fellow resource can be downloaded for convenience.

Administrative policies, procedures and guidelines pertinant to postdoctoral training can be viewed under Policies and Staff Resources.

Northwestern has two campuses separated by 15 miles, one located in Evanston and another in downtown Chicago, make sure to access the information specific to the campus you will be working at when viewing the information.

A useful resource is NU
campus maps which will help you find your way around campus.   Other wonderful resources for more information and numerous links to programs, services and events are Grad Connections and the National Postdoc Association (NPA) websites.  As Northwestern is a sustaining member of the NPA, as an NU postdoctoral fellow will be eligible to become an affiliate member of the NPA and tap into a lot of valuable resources!  You will need a Northwestern University email id (xxxxx@northwestern.edu) to sign-up as an affiliate member at the NPA website.
