Postdocs occupy a unique position in academia and consequently face a unique set of challenges and issues.  Fortunately, increasing attention is being paid on a national level to the needs and concerns of postdocts, and this is reflected in the growing number of resources on the web that deal with the challenges unique to being a postdoctoral scholar.

Resources for Postdocs in the Humanities and Social Sciences

Though it is not common for PhDs in the humanities and social sciences to do postdoctoral research, there are postdoctoral opportunities available for scholars in these fields.  Often these opportunities are in the form of teaching-oriented postdoctoral fellowships, often at prestigious institutions.  One of the most generous providers of funds for postdoctoral research in the humanities and social sciences is The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation.  For more information visit their website.
