The National Postdoc Association (NPA) is a professional association that serves as a resource and a voice for postdoctoral fellows. Northwestern University is very proud to be a sustaining member of this association!
A free affiliate membership is available to all individuals at sustaining member institutions. A special enrollment form is required to verify your affiliation. Affiliate members are entitled to free subscriptions and access to members-only web content. Your email id from Northwestern, xxxxxxx@northwestern.edu will give you access to affiliate membership.
Not only is the NPA a valuable resource on postdoctoral issues, it is also a resource for professional and leadership development. The NPA provides these resources in the members-only content area and hardcopies can be requested. They also offer opportunities to further develop professional and leadership skills by serving on any of their seven membership committees or running for a seat on the executive board.
Health Insurance!
The NPA offers an alternative healthcare plan. The NPA, through its membership in the NAGPS, is able to offer postdocs access to an affordable group health insurance plan. Although the plan is primarily intended for students, it does offer coverage to postdocs who are members of the NPA. Please visit the NPA website for surther details.
