Career Management

The OPA seeks to enhance postdoctoral scholar empowerment through offerring professional development resources, information and guidance.  Often the most effective career management strategy is one that is actively developed by a scholar themself through informed utilization of the many professional development opportunities available at Northwestern.  Postdoctoral fellows are strongly encouraged to create and develop Individual Development Plans (IDP) and to help scholars understand how to develop and effectively use an IDP, the OPA regularly presents a career management workshop

Feedback and communication from postdoctoral scholars greatly helps the OPA shape it's priorities and constructive comments or suggestions are encouraged via this brief online survey.  Postdoctoral scholars are also encouraged to participate on the OPA PD council that is a volunteer group of postdoctoral scholars that represent the voice of the postdoctoral scholar community and collectively advice and help the OPA set project priorities and objectives.  If you are interested in participating, email to the OPA at postdocs@northwestern.edu
